About Us

The Golden Dome Book Award (formerly the Dorothy Canfield Fisher Award) is given each year to the winning book from a list of 25, selected by a vote from Vermont children in grades 4-8. The book list is chosen by an eight-member reading committee which reads throughout the year and then selects the final book list in March. The aim of the committee is to compile a varied and comprehensive list featuring examples of the finest in children’s literature.
